On 19 October 2017, SAMSON Austria held the groundbreaking ceremony for a new building in Vienna’s 23rd district. The investment into the new site amounts to more than 5.5 million euro. The new facilities and relocation became necessary because the current site allowed for no further expansions.

The new building on Porschestraße 9 in the Liesing district will have twice the workshop and warehousing area: the facilities will be expanded from 510 m² to 1,010 m². Assembly and logistics will be located on the same level to optimize operations. Larger offices will become available as well. The plot covers a total area of 4,755 m² and provides sufficient space for future growth. The decision to build new facilities from scratch and relocate all operations was taken out of necessity: the current location in the Hietzing district offered no room for modernizations and expanding the existing structures was not economically viable. In addition, the district has evolved into a popular residential area and SAMSON was the only business remaining.

“SAMSON has been prospering in Austria for over 50 years and we continue our success story by investing in Vienna to ensure further growth,” said Dr. Erhard Scheidt, vice chairman of the SAMSON AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT Supervisory Board, during the groundbreaking ceremony.

SAMSON Austria was founded in 1966 and currently employs 24 members of staff. In addition to the headquarters in Vienna, the subsidiary has offices in Kematen (Tyrol) and Linz.
