Our Journey Towards Net Zero Emissions
At SAMSON, we feel responsible for the world in which we live and work. It is our mission to continuously mitigate the effects that our corporate activities have on society and the environment.
Sustainability is an essential part of our corporate strategy and the decisions we take on a day-to-day basis.
Our goal is clear
We want to complete our transformation towards net zero production by 2045 at the latest. We have already taken a series of actions in the past to achieve this goal:
- Our certified ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems help us cut back our consumption of resources by saving water and energy and reducing waste.
- We raise staff awareness for environmentally friendly practices by holding regular trainings.
- Our comprehensive compliance management system ensures that we observe all relevant environmental laws and regulations.
In accordance with the Paris Agreement, we have developed a strategy to further minimize our CO₂ emissions and other environmental impacts and consequently make our contribution to climate protection.
Innovative realignment by 2028: 30 % reduction in CO₂ emissions
Our journey has already begun. The first step in our transformation process to becoming a sustainable company was our decision to vacate our site in Frankfurt am Main, Germany and build a new, ultramodern industrial complex on the opposite banks of the river in Offenbach. By 2027, our new corporate headquarters will be erected there, meeting state-of-the-art standards in terms of technology, new work and the environment. The use of waste heat from our own processes and photovoltaic systems will enable us to reduce our CO₂ emissions by 30 % (compared to 2024) until as early as 2028.
Future CO₂ emission cutbacks by 2035
By 2027, we will complete a thorough analysis of our scope 1 to 3 emissions. Based on this analysis, we will derive targeted climate protection action. Our goal is to reduce CO₂ emissions by 60 % until 2035, which will be another important step on our journey towards net zero emissions.
Net zero emissions by 2045
SAMSON AG will not cause any more CO₂ emissions by 2045. This will finalize our transformation and permanently establish SAMSON as a trailblazer for sustainable business.
