Frankfurt am Main, 18 February 2026 – Dr. Andreas Widl, CEO of SAMSON AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT, signed the Charter of Democracy at an official ceremony held at the Frankfurt headquarters of the KfW Development Bank.
The charter was launched by the KfW Development Bank. The initiative intends to strengthen democratic processes at a local level and support political engagement within society.
SAMSON has joined ranks with other enterprises, such as KfW Bank, Deutsche Börse Group, Fraport AG, HEAG Holding AG, Helaba, KION Group and PwC Deutschland, as the first companies to sign the charter. Other companies are being encouraged to join the initiative.
As a medium-sized company, SAMSON is aware of its social responsibility and is strongly committed to democratic values. These values are an important basis for sustainable business practices as well as stability and wealth in Germany.
By signing the charter, SAMSON commits itself to adhering to the following principles:

Other examples include the cooperation with the Hainbachtal workshops to provide meaningful employment to people with disabilities. The company also offers vocational training opportunities to young refugees and supports staff involvement in homeland security. Moreover, SAMSON's latest investment project involving the construction of its new headquarters and factory in Offenbach, clearly demonstrates its commitment to society and Germany as an industrial hub.
German SMEs are synonymous with responsibility, reliability, long-term thinking and action – firmly set on investing in Germany and securing jobs. All of this requires a functioning democracy. It is the basis for our economy and prosperity. Everyone needs to take responsibility. And we are taking responsibility: we provide meaningful employment to people with disabilities at the Hainbachtal workshops. By supporting the Charter of Democracy and this KfW initiative, we want set a further example and help boost German industry in the long run.
