Frankfurt am Main/Offenbach, 16 July 2025 – The relocation of SAMSON's headquarters from Frankfurt to its new site in Offenbach am Main has begun as planned. It is the start of the gradual transfer of SAMSON's business operations while construction work of the new headquarters and factory are still in progress. The relocation involves around 2,000 employees moving from Frankfurt to Offenbach. Since the sites are only a few kilometers apart, they will not have to uproot their families and will be able to stay put in the Rhine-Main region.
The start of relocation marks a major milestone in the MainChange project. MainChange entails the entirely new construction of a modern corporate headquarters with new production facilities and offices in Offenbach to future-proof the company. It is the largest innovation venture ever undertaken in the 118-year-long history of the company. Since the decision to buy the new site was made in 2021, the brownfield site has been redeveloped, contaminated waste has been removed from the site and the first production machines have been set up. The MainChange project is rapidly progressing.
SAMSON's electronics manufacturing unit, together with around 200 staff, will be the first operational unit to relocate to the new site. This unit manufactures and assembles positioners, which are essential components used in SAMSON's automated control solutions. The first workplace will be set up at the new site on 17 July 2025. From 4 August 2025, the first members of staff will work at the new site. As of October 2025, the positioners will be the first products to be fully manufactured at the new site in Offenbach am Main.
The electronics manufacturing unit will move into one of eight buildings planned at the new site. This two-story building is 178 meters long and 25 meters high. The first pillar for this building was erected on 29 April 2024. The ground floor of this building will initially be used for interim logistics until the new 48-meter-tall high-bay warehouse is up and running. This ultramodern warehouse incorporating SAP-controlled operations will be at the core of SAMSON's ultramodern logistics operations. Once this floor is vacated, the workshop for standard valve assembly will move and occupy the ground floor.
SAMSON has invested over EUR 400 million into the new site. In the coming months, further production units will be relocated, including the in-house electroplating workshop, which is by no means a matter of course in Germany. SAMSON has made a conscious decision to run its own modern facilities in order to maintain control over the quality, performance and compliance with environmental standards.
Relocation will be completed once the executive board together with administration staff have moved to the new Forum building at "SAMSONPLATZ 1". This new address will be the official address for the SAMSON headquarters on the Offenbach Innovation Campus.
Relocation preparations already commenced at the beginning of June. SCHOLPP, a leading provider of relocation and installation services for industrial facilities, has been commissioned for the relocation work. This company has decades of experience providing professional relocation services for machinery, plants and sensitive production equipment. Its services include dismantling, transporting and recommissioning machines at the new site.
The relocation has been planned to ensure that production processes will continue running at all times and SAMSON is able to fulfill orders. New machines will be started up at the new site, while existing manufacturing installations at Frankfurt will continue to run at the same time. Additionally, stocks will be built up to compensate for any possible start-up issues and to reliably meet delivery deadlines.
As part of a collective agreement, SAMSON has granted a job guarantee until the end of 2028, long after the relocation is scheduled to finish. MainChange is not only a huge change project. It also offers a clear outlook for staff: SAMSON is not only investing into buildings and machines. It will secure jobs and provide opportunities for long-term development.
The MainChange project clearly demonstrates SAMSON's commitment to Germany and the Rhine-Main region as a center of industry. As a medium-sized company with a long-term vision, SAMSON remains intentionally deeply rooted in the region and make investments.
The ROLF SANDVOSS INNOVATION CENTER (RSIC) will remain at its current location in Frankfurt am Main. This center is at the heart of SAMSON's research and development work, including many innovative pilot projects. Its services will serve the new headquarters in Offenbach.
