ADVANCED 201 – Advanced Control Valves

|   Training

Advanced control valves 201 is intended for engineers, technicians and all other personnel who are responsible for sizing and selecting final control elements. In this course, students will learn about the design and operation of control valves and their accessories. In addition, the students will solve real world valve sizing and selection problems. Lastly, the students will participate in assembly and installation of accessories for control valves. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Install, parameterize and initialize smart SAMSON positioners.
  • Mount pneumatic actuators to SAMSON control valves and adjust them mechanically
  • Change response times and implement special functions of actuators according to application requirements.
  • Explain the function of different accessories and how they are mounted, piped, initialized and tested.
  • Select the proper valve flow coefficient and valve characteristic for a specific application.
  • Choose suitable control valve style for a specific application.
  • Size and choose proper material selection for both valve and actuator.
