WASTE ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT (WEEE) AND ITS SAFE DISPOSAL

INFORMATION

SMART IN FLOW CONTROL

Companies that manufacture, sell or place electrical and electronic equipment on the European market must normally be registered in every country. Additionally, companies must report the sales figures for waste electrical and electronic equipment to a national register.

As of 1 January 2023, companies in Germany must offer a take-back service for their own EEE for commercial (B2B) users. Equipment must be marked with the following icon:

SAMSON notifies users that WEEE must not be disposed with the general household or commercial waste. Their collection and disposal must be handled separately. If applicable, any mounted storage medium contained in them must be erased or removed prior to collection.

This is symbolized by the crossed-out trash can.

The European Directive on WEEE (2012/19/EU) is intended to prevent the creation of WEEE. It defines minimum standards for the environmentally friendly handling of EEE at the end of their life. The objective of the EU is to reduce environmental effects through re-use, recycling and other forms of recovery. SAMSON AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT who manufactures and sells EEE observes the requirements imposed by the WEEE Directive.
