For over two decades, the engineers at SAMSON PFEIFFER have been dealing with increasingly stringent requirements being placed on control valves in the chemical industry. The demand for control valves suitable for handling corrosive liquids and gases has been growing consistently, also in large valve sizes. SAMSON PFEIFFER specializes in tailoring valves to meet strictest requirements and offers solutions across the entire valve size range: lined ball and globe valves in small and medium sizes as well as lined butterfly valves in medium and large sizes.
PTFE-lined globe valves larger than DN 150 have been added to the portfolio recently. So far, butterfly valves were the preferred solution in these sizes because they are usually lighter, take up less space and also cost less. Nevertheless, they are not designed to handle high pressure drops, which exist in many applications nowadays. The new large valves by SAMSON PFEIFFER with their favorable flow characteristics are different. All wetted parts of the globe valves with optimized control design have a thick PTFE lining. PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene best known under the brand name Teflon®. It is largely indestructible by corrosion and, more importantly, it is resistant to almost all corrosive liquids and solvents. SAMSON PFEIFFER is proud to offer its customers the lined Type 01a Valve – a product that meets strictest requirements, is resistant to chemicals, high temperatures and pressures and can be used universally in many applications.
