Ms. Ulli Nissen, member of the German Parliament for the Social Democratic Party (SPD), wanted to see for herself what the everyday business of a European employer looks like. The Frankfurt-based politician wanted more than "abstract discussions" ahead of the European Parliament elections, which will take place on 26 May. This is why she spent 29 April 2019 at SAMSON AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT to experience a European working day first hand.
"I want to base my reasoning and political actions on specific, real-life examples. As a result, I picked SAMSON, headquartered in Frankfurt's eastern industrial area, to gain an insight into the everyday routine of Europeans working in an industrial company," said Ms. Nissen.
In the morning, she visited the training workshop and spoke with the company's apprentices. The 160 young people praised the good support they got from SAMSON during their vocational training. Mr. Michael Hintz, head of vocational training at SAMSON, added that the international, multicultural work environment created a good community spirit among the workforce. Mr. Hintz is proud of the training workshop. SAMSON has earned a reputation of being particularly successful at integrating refugees.
"Excellent staff training forms the basis of excellent products. SAMSON has always been aware of this. As a result, we offer young people the opportunity to do their vocational training at our company or to join us for job placements and internships. As part of our university cooperations, we take in students writing their bachelor or master theses," said the head of vocational training about the company's activities.
