This webinar is part of the “Predictive Maintenance” / online knowledge weeks, organized by the FHI, the Federation of Technology Branches in the Netherlands. Predictive Maintenance or preventive maintenance is one way to make supply chain management more sustainable. The aim of this preventive maintenance is to replace the components of a machine at the right time, before it reaches the end of its lifespan. When this is done correctly, preventive maintenance is more efficient than corrective maintenance.
The use of sensors plays an increasingly important role in this. A sensor is used to measure the status of a component during a certain period of time. With this collected data trends can determine the lifespan of a component and thus find out when this component should ideally be replaced. One way to make the 'Life Cycle' more sustainable is to optimize Predictive Maintenance to reduce maintenance costs.
